KERUSAKAN ALAM PADA NOVEL MATA DAN RAHASIA PULAU GAPI (KAJIAN EKOKRITIK SASTRA)

Abstract
Nature does not only exist as a setting, but also as a complete construction of meaning in a literary work. The characters in literary works represent the behavior of mankind. Literary discourse can present environmental issues as a campaign for nature conservation. The purpose of this study is to describe the destruction of nature in the novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi by Okky Madasari. The method used is a qualitative method with an eco-critical approach. The data collection technique applied is documentation, reading, and note taking. Data analysis activities consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the study show that the natural problems contained in the novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi are the loss of two villages due to the eruption of Mount Gamalama and the formation of Lake Tolire, air pollution and hot temperatures, earthquakes, Gamalama volcano erupted, development (malls, hotels, and golf courses) on top of historical buildings, rare bird hunting and colonization. The study of natural damage is related to the paradigm of anthropocentrism and ecocentrism. The implication of this research is a contribution to the scientific repertoire to support ecocritical research and as a medium for ecological awareness campaigns.
Alam tidak hanya hadir sebagai latar, tetapi juga sebuah konstruksi makna utuh dari sebuah karya sastra. Adapun tokoh dalam karya sastra mewakili perilaku umat manusia. Wacana sastra dapat menampilkan isu lingkungan sebagai sebuah kampanye pelestarian alam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kerusakan alam dalam novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi karya Okky Madasari. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan ekokritik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang diaplikasikan adalah dokumentasi, simak, baca, dan catat. Aktivitas analisis data terdiri atas reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya permasalahan alam yang terdapat di dalam novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi, yakni hilangnya dua desa karena letusan Gunung Gamalama dan terbentuknya Danau Tolire, polusi udara dan suhu udara yang panas, gempa bumi, meletusnya Gunung Gamalama, pembangunan (mal, hotel, dan lapangan golf) di atas bangunan bersejarah, perburuan burung langka, serta penjajahan. Kajian kerusakan alam tersebut berkaitan dengan paradigma antroposentrisme dan ekosentrisme. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah sumbangsih bagi khazanah keilmuan untuk penunjang penelitian ekokritik dan sebagai media kampanye kesadaran ekologis.
