Abstract
Political speeches are strategic tools for leaders to convey their vision, mission, and ideology while building legitimacy of power in society. This study aims to analyze the representation of ideology and power in President Prabowo Subianto's speech through the Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK) approach of Norman Fairclough's model. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by analyzing the speech text based on three AWK dimensions: textual dimensions, discursive practices, and socio-political practices. Data in the form of speech texts were obtained from the archives of the State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia and analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion and interpretation techniques. The findings show that President Prabowo's speech reflects the ideology of nationalism and patriotism by emphasizing the values of egalitarianism and social justice. The speech text uses rhetorical strategies such as repetition, metaphor, and historical diction to strengthen the message of national unity and emphasize the importance of systemic reform in eradicating corruption, food and energy self-sufficiency, and reducing social inequality. In addition, this speech emphasizes harmonious democracy in accordance with Indonesian cultural values as a response to domestic political polarization. This analysis shows that the speech was used as a tool to build political legitimacy and strengthen public trust in the new government through historical narratives, concrete solutions to national challenges, and calls for collaboration. This research contributes to the understanding of the relationship between language, ideology, and power in Indonesian political discourse.
